Batman practice...

Decided to start practicing my digital skills again. It will take some time to get comfortable with it as much as i an traditional painting. I wanted to paint this concept in a traditional style originally, but the expenses of traditional caught up to me, which can be an influence to learn, do more digital work for a while. All in all i enjoyed this practice. I have many completed thumbnails for more adventurous in the near future.

Soon they will have it inked and colored by two other artists and posted, which i will link later when its running. For now these are the pages i did for now.  This is page 1 after some edits done for the commissioner.

Werewolf / Blade Runner, So the digital work begins.....

I have been going crazy over digital art for a while now. When im not working i make time for a small painting off to the side for practice. I really like painting on the computer, iv just got some work ahead of me on that. Here is my first one, where i took the most recent digital picture i did, and tried adding what i thought it needed, detail, in a small area

some time later i took i pic online of blade runner and did some studies

2013 Motor city con...

This year i went with sinister undertone, to motor city con which was a great experience. Before the con i was commissioned to do a promo illustration and color it for one of there titles coming soon, "Ballad of the Walker". Iv done others before this, for that title, but this one was different. Several weeks before the con, i have been getting caught up on my digital painting skills, lots of small practices and this piece was the one where i decided "im going to do alot more digital work".. so in Photoshop i sketched this out, then colored it (as fast as i could since the con was around the corner). here is the promo

I also was asked to do a quick sketch of who ever i wanted during the con.

Happy St. Patty's...

For Sinister undertone comics, i was commissioned to draw a leprechaun for a t shirt design (which was not used). Instead i was to draw a skeleton leprechaun that was used, and was later colored by another talented artist named Yu Yang, working with the company.

If you want one, there are 3 different kinds of shirts including this design. Contact me for more info.

old challenger...

When i was around 7- 14 my uncle would challenge me to take characters of movies, animes, comics etc. and change them, even some time create a whole new character with those more popular ones. In about a weeks time i would re-visit him and we would compare drawings. Well this week he challenged me for the first time in years, Challenge ACCEPTED!

Challenge was to take Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern and switch the color sets.
So i did this yesterday morning before i got working on paid projects. I was trying not to make myself spend more than an hour on it so that it would just be for fun/ practice.

Finished product...

Well i got the ok for the poster of the "emily elm street" fan film. So here is what i did. I took the few pictures of the 2 characters they took and chop n screwed them together. then i fused them with the colored capital building picture and made them look like they belonged. (the people producing the fan film wanted the building to look comic book like, and the people to stay realistic)...so in 2 days time this is what i did....

Capital...

So i was asked to do a poster for a girl named Hope, who is a major huge positive influence for the well being of Flint Michigan, and shes like 13 or some things. So on her recent go around's she is helping a flint guy with his fan film (Emily Elm Street), so they took pictures of her and there Freddy Kruger, and they didn't quite know how to finish there ad, here is where i come in. They wanted a comic book style building in the back with all of the info needed... first step
Draw the building, now i colored it, then added the selected picture they took, put in all the info, so its all done. Problem is they haven't approved it, and they wont til after new years. So i cant post it until then.
So... Next week ill post up the rest of the process.

DFF Free art...

For this years Detroit Fan Fare i had quite a bit of art to finish in a matter of days, not weeks, and i can defiantly say this had been a great learning experience. I drew and colored a "Ballad of the Walker" promo hand out (i did not do the logo), and colored the rest of the promos that i didnt draw, like one for "The 7" pencils by Laurell Bryant and another for "Karma" pencils by Jovon Tucker...

Knight and Gale...

From a mini series iv been working on called "Knight and Gale" iv made a couple posts about it,

Starting with a poster

So Iv developed a Character name Samuel Knight who originally looked like this
I created a mini comic to test it all out...

I liked the overall idea of the story but it wasnt a full beginning, middle, end deal, and i wanted to try and develop it, so i got help from my friends Cassandra, and Eric, and we created 75% of a good rounded story
So i started to re-develop some characters...

After creating a vision for these characters i took a small piece of the story and fleshed it out, then i printed them out and went to a mini com to sell the copy's and see what audience it attracted...
